Praise for Training with Coach Barb
I love water and want everyone I meet to love the water as much as I do. It’s been over 40 years since I started coaching and I’m still learning from every swimmer I work with.
—Barb Kolitsch
Thanks again Barb for everything! I can’t tell you how much your training has changed my views on swimming! Hoping that I have done enough! Looking forward to a great race on Sunday!!
—Triathlete
Thanks Barb, to go from not being able to swim 3 strokes without stopping to learning what I did last night was huge! I’m laughing just thinking about it. But seriously that was a big step for me, now I just have to get in the pool and work on it. I will let you know how it goes.

Alaina did fantastic at State and took off time in every event!!! 4.82 off in the 100 back!!! Plus she got to more zone cuts!!! So, wanted to keep in touch and try to get her to see you a couple times a month to keep her improving for when winter swim starts!!
—Chet
Thank you so much! You really made an incredible impression on everyone, especially Ray.
He is so excited to have you work with Hallory (as is Hallory). Hallory couldn’t get a word in to tell me how she did, as he was explaining to me what you covered. Again, I can’t begin to express how much we appreciate you working with her. I look forward to meeting you next week!
—Amy
Just wanted to let you know that Kaiser used your suggestions during the back portion of his 200 IM over the weekend. He was swimming against the state champion backstroker. He had a commanding lead after the fly and he didn’t really lose much of it during the backstroke at all. He said he tried to rotate his hips sooner and keep his legs straight and high. He did say it was much more tiring but resulted in a State championship time of 1:56.97 and a nice end to a great weekend. Thanks so much!!
—Heidi
I went swimming today and felt really good! As I was swimming, I was thinking back on a time last fall when I struggled to do 25 yards freestyle. Today, at the end of my 2000 meter workout, I was able to do 2 x 200’s no problem. It’s just amazing to see myself improve and do something I wasn’t sure I would be able to with my shoulder. So, thank you for all of your help thus far! I will keep working hard and can’t wait to see more improvements!

I just wanted to share some success thanks to your swim clinic. I just raced the Pewaukee International distance triathlon on Sunday and pulled off a 1:45/100yd pace for the 1/2 swim! Thanks for teaching me to swim. I won my age group in Lansing this morning. There might have only been 3 of us, I really don’t know since results aren’t posted yet. Either way, I won!
—Ryan
Thank you so much, Barb! The transformation in the girls’ strokes is amazing!!! We are looking forward to watching the videos from last week tonight.
—Sarah
Hey Barb! So just wanted to let you know I survived the swim and did great for me! Last year when I did the Oshkosh 3/4 mile swim I did it in 1 hr 5 minutes and this year doing the 1.2 mile swim I finished in 56 minutes. Beating a total of 6 people out of 443 out of the water, but hey what’s a girl going to do!? I finished in 6hrs and 44 minutes and made up some time on the bike and run! Ended up 8/13 in my age group and 374/444 overall. Really can’t complain…But told everyone there that you are a miracle worker!!
—Ashley
I just wanted to share some success thanks to your swim clinic. I just raced the Pewaukee International distance triathlon on Sunday and pulled off a 1:45/100yd pace for the 1/2 swim!! That’s not including the run to the timing mat! My normal pace for a race used to be 2:05/100yd.

Wow Barb! Outside of the lesson itself, these notes are incredible! You really go above and beyond. You provide a niche service that people literally drive hundreds of miles to attain because no one else does it as well as you. Thank you so much for the lesson!
—Charmaine
I feel like things have been going very well lately, and have been feeling pretty smooth. It seems things are starting to piece together a bit more. I used to struggle with keeping up good stroke technique while maintaining my 6 beat kick, but just within the last few swims it has become more natural.

I had to share…..Tara qualified for Y state in her 100 breast today at sectionals in Weston. She got 1.19.98. Her coach said she looked like she was attacking the water….maybe her hammering down!!! Looking forward to her lessons with you in a couple of weeks!
—Liz
I got a lot of valuable instruction from the course and it has certainly improved my speed and efficiency. Did some test 100s this week and averaged 1:29. Previously I was averaging 1:50ish on those same sets. Looking forward to seeing how the times look on longer distances after building a little more endurance. Thanks again for all your help.
—Ed
I truly appreciate all the help you have given Ruthie over the past year. I know how much she respects you. You have made her a better swimmer and a better competitor.
—Parent

We went to Y tonight and in pool for about 45 minutes. She struggled at first with
breathing but by the end was going the length with little problem. Jenny did not use a nose plug!!!

I really enjoyed our time together!!! Thank you. Your notes are wonderful Barb!!! Very organized, thorough, & helpful. I love the idea of thinking about one thing 50 yards x 4. Makes perfect sense. Commit it to memory. I love the paddles. Very good training tool!!!!! Thank you very much!!!!
